About me

I am Sebastian, a German painter from Wolfsburg specializing in muralart and paintings.

From a young age, I've had a passion for captivating visual compositions.

I integrate modern digital technology and the knowledge of image composition and color theory gained from my graphic design training into the conception of my visual worlds.

Years of experience inform my concept development, enabling efficient planning and execution.

In recent years, I've had the privilege of realizing diverse projects for municipalities, companies, and private individuals. This has resulted in numerous beautiful murals and murals throughout Germany, as well as various art projects.

My paintings have been exhibited in regional and international exhibitions, for example, in New York, London, and Urbino, and sold to various private collectors and institutions.

Painting on facades and canvases

I use a variety of tools for my paintings and for working on facades.

From high-quality, delicate brushes, masking tape, utility knives, and squeegees to large compasses, aluminum strips, rags, and coarse paintbrushes from the hardware store, I have it all.

Depending on the requirements, I work with different types of paint, such as spray paints, acrylics, oils, wall paints, and facade paints.

Intensive research followed by the design process using graphic design software and a pencil are integral parts of my concept development.

Laser measuring devices are used for precise measurements and design. And to make working on large facades possible, scaffolding or scissor lifts help me reach the work areas.

Felicity in color

Ultimately, we all want to feel comfortable in our surroundings! Community and communication foster positive coexistence and inner balance. With my life-affirming compositions, I aim to contribute to precisely that.

I paint because I love God and life.

Diversified visual worlds

Abstract compositions and allegorical figurative works

My painting style has evolved over the past few years from abstract expressionism through geometric abstraction to allegorical realism with futuristic elements.

The works are becoming increasingly figurative, more detailed, and significantly more time-consuming and elaborate to produce.

Realistic elements contrast with gestural brushstrokes.

I paint oil paintings in the traditional way, using multiple layers or alla prima. I paint acrylics alla prima and employ sophisticated masking techniques.

Currently, I produce two distinct lines of work.

I continue to paint canvases with abstract compositions and am also working on allegorical paintings with figurative imagery.

Abstract compositions

In my abstract works, I experiment with three-dimensional figures, color gradients, distortions, and various surface textures to create compelling compositions.

The paintings are intended to offer interesting viewing experiences and leave room for interpretation.

Allegorical paintings

(These paintings are currently in progress)

Reflecting on the volatile nature of our times, I seek to develop inquisitive and contemplative visual concepts. My aim is not to accuse or condemn, but rather to document challenges and tensions and to make visible psychological and spiritual components. My figurative imagery reveals the shadow side of a highly developed era, yet also offers hope and confidence for eternity.

These works are not solely about the emotional experience of viewing the image.

While visual intensity is important to me, my goal is not to entertain, but to stimulate profound self-reflection—self-reflection in the face of eternity. The profane does not interest me, and I believe that viewers of my imagery should also experience the truly important truths for their lives.

Through my artistic practice and research, I connect the real with the transcendental world.

I seek inspiration through the continuous self-study of art history, the Bible, and literature from philosophy, psychology, and sociology.

Impulses from other artists and thinkers, as well as fragments of my own work, resonate in a dynamic interplay.

My work is influenced by biblical themes and abstract expressionism. I also draw on the influence of various painters from past centuries.

To better understand the work of other artists, I regularly visit museums and art galleries.

In 2025, I traveled to Urbino with a delegation to further my education and learn more about the work of the Old Masters.
